We have hatched two generations of the Jurassic World T-Rex. Both crack their own shell and both train with a clicker — but the eggs, the accessories and the look of the hatchling are different. Here is how to tell them apart and which one suits your hatcher.
The shell
Gen 1 hatches from a sandy, cracked-stone shell. Gen 2 has a pink, freckled egg lined with gel, so the hatch looks wetter and more alive. If your kids love a gross-out reveal, Gen 2 wins.
The hatchling
Both are baby Jurassic World T-Rex figures with articulated jaws, heads and legs. The Gen 2 dinosaur has deeper brown markings and sharp green glowing eyes; the Gen 1 dinosaur is a warmer orange with pink speckles.
The training kit
Gen 1 comes with a gray clicker and a red toy steak. Gen 2 swaps in a black-and-red clicker and an orange treat. The training idea is the same: click to call, feed, pet or startle to shape the personality.
Sounds and reactions
Each generation has more than 100 sounds and reactions. Gen 2 adds a few new responses, but a family moving from one to the other will feel at home straight away.
Which one to pick
Choose Gen 1 as the classic first T-Rex at a friendlier price. Choose Gen 2 for the most dramatic hatch, or as a second dinosaur for a kid who already raised a Gen 1. Many hatchers end up with both, and the two make a loud pack.
What both Primal Hatch generations share
Whichever egg you open, the Primal Hatch Jurassic World T-Rex experience is the same at heart. Kids watch a prehistoric creature hatch for the first time in millions of years, then play, feed and train their dino until it grows into a loyal friend or a fierce predator. Both interactive T-Rex toys are for ages 5 and up, both hatch only once, and both keep the adventure going with a trainer and a treat.
