Megalodon Shark Egg — Primal Hatch

Primal Hatch Megalodon — the prehistoric shark that hatches from the deep

From the depths of the lab comes our biggest specimen yet. Drop the egg in the tank, pour in water and watch the whole thing fizz red while something huge starts to roar inside.

What happens in the Megalodon tank

The Megalodon set is a full hatching lab: a clear tank on hazard-striped legs and one giant shark egg, batteries included. Place the egg, add water, and a fizzing reaction turns the tank a murky red. Inside the shell, the Megalodon wakes up — you hear it before you see it, and its eyes glow through the cracks.

Then it breaks out. The 16-inch shark punches up through the shell with chomping jaws, and a sensor in its mouth keeps it snapping at fingers, toys and anything else brave enough to come close. After the hatch it is a full-size shark figure with lights and sounds, built for rough play.

The best part: the hatch is repeatable. Rinse the parts, dry them, fold the Megalodon back into its egg and reset the tank. Families tell us the rehatch becomes a party trick — the first hatch is for the birthday, the next twenty are for every friend who comes over.

A prehistoric creature from the Primal Hatch lab

Long before the Jurassic World T-Rex, the oceans belonged to the Megalodon. Our hatching shark brings that prehistoric creature to the kitchen table as an interactive toy kids can hatch, play with and hatch again. The experience is a fizzing lab show first and a ferocious action figure after.

Megalodon or T-Rex?

Both are Primal Hatch eggs, and both hatch in front of you. The Jurassic World T-Rex is a baby dinosaur you tap out of its egg and train with a clicker into a friend or a fierce predator, with 100+ sounds and reactions. The Megalodon is the bigger, louder beast: a 16-inch shark that lets kids repeat the hatch as many times as they like. Dinosaur fans often start with the T-Rex and add the shark as the next adventure.

Is the Megalodon a dino?

Not quite — it is a giant prehistoric shark, but it sits right beside our dinosaur toys in the lab, and kids who love dinosaurs love it just as much.

Perfect for 5 year old boy

We bought this for my son for his 5 year old birthday. It was a whole family bonding experience watching the shark "hatch". I like that once it comes out you can actually play with the shark like a normal toy. It is great quality and makes the coolest noises. My son thinks this is the best gift of his birthday, it is so fun for a 5 year old boy! I feel like…

Not just for boys! My daughter loves this toy!!

We got this hatching megalodon shark toy in July and am surprised that it is still one of the first toys my 8 year old daughter takes out to show her friends when they come over to play. She thinks it’s so cool (and honestly, so do her friends!!) I think it’s kind of gross and noisy but that’s a big part of the appeal for kids! The shark is way larger than…

It is rehatchable

The primal hatch Megalodon was great for our 5 year old grandson. When it hatched he was super excited over the lights and noise and once he got it out of the shell the megalodon was even better to him because of the movement of it and noises. Great product for the price. We also received it in 2 days which was great.
